Two routes cross Scotland: in the north, the Caledonian Canal connects the Atlantic with the North Sea; four lochs (including the famous Loch Ness) which lie in the Great Glen are joined by canals to make one of the great waterways of the world. In the south, the 21st Century Falkirk Wheel boat lift and the Millenium Link project has created another route between the two seas, connecting Edinburgh & Glasgow.
