KM1042.0 Dunărea river
The Iron Gates (Kazan Gorge) is a gorge on the river Danube above the town of Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania. It forms part of the boundary between Serbia and Romania, passing through the Carpathian mountains. The Iron Gate dam and lock opens into the free-flowing section of the river, with no locks, for 943 km to the Black Sea.
